Invensys Rail Dimetronic has commissioned its Westrace electronic interlocking and associated signalling systems in the first phase of the signalling project for the extension of the Porto Alegre Metropolitan line 1. In addition, Invensys Rail Dimetronic has installed a Control Traffic Centre (CTC) Rail 9000 in order to supervise and control this line section plus three local control centers located at Unisinos, São Leopoldo and Santo Afonso stations.
The project includes the track construction and the installation of railway signalling and control systems in 15 kilometers of double track and in five new stations: Rio dos Sinos, Santo Afonso, Industrial, Fenac y Novo Hamburgo.
The Brazilian operator Trensurb (Empresa de Trens Urbanos de Porto Alegre S.A.) awarded the project to the consortium Novavia, which trusted Invensys Rail Dimetronic for the supply and installation of the signalling and control systems in the north extension of the line 1.
Invensys Rail Dimetronic, which operates in Brazil through its counterpart Invensys Rail Ltda., will supply Westrace electronic interlocking systems, LED, track circuits with speed codes, communications and cables and power supply systems.
