SIRIUS is based in the principle of virtual moving block and uses the latest state-of-the-art digital radio transmission techniques. It has been specifically designed for high density traffic lines. By optimising the headway, the shortest possible interval between consecutive trains is granted, thus allowing the operator to reach maximum transport capacity and optimise rolling stock usage.
SIRIUS is an Automatic Train Control system designed according to a virtual moving block philosophy and using CBTC technology. SIRIUS uses a digital radio system to grant a continuous, high capacity, bi-directional train-to-wayside data communication.
ATC systems by Invensys Rail, using common safety principles and shared technological platforms have been installed in many Mass Transit and suburban railways around the world, including major network operators in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, London, Beijing, Singapore, Bucharest, Manila and others.
All this experience is available to grant the success of the implementation of SIRIUS in any existing or newly built railway line.
