The Contract consisted in the implementation of an ATC System (Automatic Train Control) in the section Gara de Nord-1 Mai of the new Line 4 of Bucharest Metro. The scope of supply included Electronic Interlocking Westrace, ATP, ATO and ATS Systems, Communications Equipment, Passenger Information System and AVI (Automatic Vehicle Identification). The first interlocking was commissioned in December 1999 and the rest in March 2001.

Line 4, which travels across the North of the capital, is the most recent of the four existing lines of the Bucharest Metro and it has a length of four kilometers. In addition to this recently awarded extension, the construction of one new station, Laminorului, and a branch line, which will connect line 4 with the city airport, have been planned. Line 5 between Ghencea and Pantelimon stations is being currently built.
